Varsity Media Group, Inc., a leading entertainment
media company dedicated to teenagers and young adults worldwide, and MovieSeer Limited, a leading South East Asian
provider of mobile phone content and information services, today announced a new
a multi-year agreement licensing Varsity Mobile's extensive library of user
created and professionally produced programming to MovieSeer.
The deal will allow MovieSeer to distribute Varsity Mobile's content over 12
carrier partners in 7 countries and territories in Asia-Pacific, making
available one of the world's largest user created video entertainment catalogs
to over a hundred million mobile phone users in the region.
"Our partnership with MovieSeer will allow Varsity to strengthen its position in
the international entertainment marketplace," said Kelly Hoffman, Founder and
CEO of Varsity Media Group. "We are looking forward to working with MovieSeer to
bring Varsity's library of user created content for mobile phones to teens
throughout Asia-Pacific."
Varsity Mobile was the first programmer to provide user-created content that is
written, directed and produced by teenagers for mobile devices. Many of Varsity
Mobile's programs also allow viewers to vote on their mobile devices for their
favorite character, athlete or clip.
"It is clear that teens continue to drive the adoption of mobile video content
in Asia-Pacific," said Roy D. Chapin IV, MovieSeer CEO and Founder. "We are
excited to leverage Varsity's unique ability to reach the teen demographic by
promoting interactivity through user created content and our experience in
identifying what appeals to mobile phone users in the region."
