Ceragon Networks(R) Wins $6 Million Turnkey Project to Expand Digitel Network in Philippines

Ceragon Networks Lhas been awarded a new $6 million project by Digitel Mobile Philippines, Inc. (DMPI), a leading telecommunications provider in the Philippines.

The turnkey project, to be implemented during the first half of the year, follows two earlier deployments of the Digitel group's mobile and fixed networks by Ceragon during the past year collectively totaling $11 million. Revenues from this contract will be recognized over the next five years.

According to a Digitel Mobile company official, "We continue to choose Ceragon to expand our network because they provide a complete turnkey solution. Ceragon's product offering, supporting medium to ultra-high capacity applications, with the ability to change to a pure IP network in the future, provides the most intelligent and economical way for us to quickly increase our capacity and coverage in order to accommodate additional subscribers."

Ceragon's FibeAir(R) 1500P platform is being used to meet all the transmission requirements of DMPI which operates as Sun Cellular, in addition to the Digitel group's fixed network division. The systems employ integrated XPIC functionality, a feature that enables Digitel to get double the capacity using the same frequency channels for increased spectral efficiency. Ceragon is providing full turnkey implementation of the network including installation and commissioning, civil works, network planning and end-to-end network management of the solution. This move is in line with Digitel's aim to provide six million subscribers capacity by the end of 2006.

"This contract is yet another confirmation of Ceragon's global leadership and strong customer relationships," said Ira Palti, President and CEO, Ceragon Networks Ltd. "The FibeAir 1500P series answers operator demands for both an efficient backhaul solution capable of handling a growing subscriber base and increasing network traffic and one that is ready for next generation migration."
