According to the Ukrainian State Statistics Committee, the number of people with mobile phones reached 33.034 million at the end of March 2006, up 10.1% in three months.

Of the total, more than eight million reside in the capital Kiev, while the Donetsk Region boasted 4.376 million users, the Kharkiv Region had 2.354 million, the Dnipropetrovsk Region had 2.182 million and the Crimea Autonomous Republic had 1.955 million.
